I go to shows but I dont particularly fit into any scene…so thats why I’m not gonna go to every hardcore, metal, whatever show every time it comes to town because even though I might like the band(s), I hate being around a group of people that I have jack shit in common with, I mean, I might be into what they are into but chances are, they will not be into what I’m into and if it cant go both ways (LOL) no point in going to those places as often as I used to
You dont HAVE to like Pantera or even give a fuck about them if you are into metal…there are dozens of sub-genres to choose from, not liking one band, regardless of how influential they are, out of a million doesnt make you a bad person
P.S. I only liked the Pantera songs that I would hear on the radio, do I think Dimebag is the best guitarist in metal? HELLLLLLLLLLLLLL NO

So glad I dont listen to strictly metal anymore…it gets boring after a while if thats all you listen to!
Wish people would realize, that a “good music scene” isnt full of bands playing the same style and genre of music, but with different names…there is nothing good about avoiding diversity, that actually makes the scene seem stale in my eyes…i dont want to go to a show in town and see some hardcore/metal band that sounds exactly like the previous band, or strickly hardcore and metal…also, not diverse
